Check you are comparing the same product
Match the set, product type, language, edition and packaging. A booster bundle, ETB and collection box from the same set are different products. Special editions can have different contents from the standard version, even when the product titles look almost identical.
If the title is vague, check the shop’s product description and photos. Confirm the language, pack count and any promo. A product image can help, but it does not replace the variant details in the listing.
An in-stock offer, a preorder and an unavailable listing are different things. Check the status and observation time. A recently observed price can still change before checkout, so open the shop page and confirm the total, stock and delivery terms before paying.
Compare the price you will actually pay
The lowest listing tells you what one shop asks. A median across current, in-stock prices for the same language and edition tells you where the middle of the market sits. For a fair comparison, count one price per shop; several listings from one retailer should not make that retailer look like several independent opinions.
A lowest price 10% below the median deserves a closer look, but it is not a discount until you confirm the product and checkout total. A median from two shops is also less persuasive than one supported by a broader set of shops.
Compare the amount you will actually pay: product price plus delivery and any required minimum order. Shipping to Belgium may differ from shipping to the Netherlands, even at the same shop.
For products that contain only packs, divide that total by the verified pack count. For an ETB or collection box, keep the accessories and promo in mind; the calculation cannot assign them a fair value for you.
Use past prices to set a target
Price history shows earlier offers for that product. Look at the period covered and the number of observations before deciding whether today’s price is unusual. A short history or a single shop gives you little context, and the graph cannot predict next month’s price.
Keep the product language and edition the same throughout the comparison. A different box from the same set can have a different price for reasons the chart does not explain.
Choose the delivered price you would be happy to pay. If the alert tracks the product price before shipping, set its threshold below that amount to leave room for delivery. When an email arrives, reopen the shop page: the offer may have changed or sold out.
Two shops can list the same price but offer different delivery times, shipping costs or return terms. A small saving may not be worth it if the product description is incomplete or the shop cannot confirm your version. Treat the median as a comparison point, then choose based on the listing you can verify.
